Hand Poured Soy Bookish Candles
Bewitched Between Bindings creates book-inspired candles that feel like they belong inside the stories we love. Each scent is crafted to bring a little more magic, mood, and atmosphere to your reading life. I focus especially on romance, fantasy, and some science fiction. The goal is to make every candle feel immersive, cozy, and true to the world that inspired it.
Inspiration Behind Bewitched Between Bindings
Making book-inspired candles honestly came from two things I already loved so much: reading and scent.
I read a lot of fantasy and romance, and one thing I kept noticing was how often certain characters, places, and moments were described through smell. The more I paid attention to it, the more I realized how powerful that was. Scent can make something feel immediate. It can bring up emotion, memory, tension, comfort, all of it. I started thinking about how cool it would be to actually bring those details off the page and into real life.
So that is where Bewitched Between Bindings started.
I began going back through books I loved, pulling out the specific scent descriptions tied to characters and settings, and figuring out how to recreate them as accurately as possible in candle form. What started as a creative experiment pretty quickly turned into something bigger. I loved the challenge of taking something fictional and making it tangible.
Now that is still my favorite part. I get to create candles that feel like they belong inside the story, the kind that let readers connect with a character or world in a whole different way. It is basically my favorite way to combine books, creativity, and a little bit of magic.

Crafted with Care: My Scent Selection Process
Literary Analysis
I start by going back into the book and pulling the exact scent description from the text itself. From there, I build the candle around the specific notes the author names on the page, so the final scent feels as accurate to the story and character as possible. Sometimes that means blending something straightforward, and sometimes it means interpreting a more layered description, but it always starts with the words in the book.
Author Insight
Sometimes, if I cannot find a clear scent description in the book, I am able to ask the author directly. That happens pretty often when I attend conventions, and it gives me the chance to get their take on what a character or world should actually smell like. Sometimes an author will even give me a specific perfume or scent reference, and then I work backwards to identify the fragrance notes and recreate it in candle form.
Deep Research
Other times the process takes a lot more research. If a scent is tied to a fantasy setting or a world that does not have a straightforward real-life reference, I will dig into author interviews, bonus content, and other background material to better understand the inspiration behind it. For example, an author might share that a fictional place was inspired by a real location known for lavender fields, which gives me something specific to build from when recreating the scent.
